The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous places where sedimentary rocks are found. The canyon covers 1,218,375 acres of northwestern Arizona. The Colorado River is the river you see in the picture. It has eroded at the rock for many years, and has made its way through the canyon.

Cheddar Gorge. A steep, narrow limstone gorge. The gorge was formed by rapid river erosion, about 18,000 years ago. When the glaciers over Britain melted, large amounts of melted water were able to erode at rocks, such as the limestone in the gorge. The winding road that runs through the gorge marks the position of the melted water.
